Every Second Tuesday of Each Month

Come and talk about challenges with your relationship with food and body image. Share with others and learn from them. I will provide education, information, and support. Men and women welcome.

You do not need to come every month, but you can. However, please do register before each session at anne@cuthbert.org or by calling (503) 766-3399.

 

Food is Not the Enemy: The Essentials

An educational group for women who want to learn how to create a healthy relationship with food and begin the healing process.

Join a group that will teach you behavioral changes that will help you to improve your relationship with food and to feel better in your body.

This group will focus on the essentials of changing your behaviors around food. Each session will support you in addressing an aspect of your food and body image issues by teaching you to be a normal eater. Learn to understand and heal your relationship with food, starting with the essentials - your behavior.

Food is Not the Enemy: Healing the Obsession

A support group for women who want to end the obsession with food and start to live life fully

Join an ongoing support group that will help you end your obsession with food and start to feel happier and healthier in your body and in your life.

The group is a safe, supportive environment in which you will join with others who feel as you do.  The group will offer education and support to help you start feeling good about yourself, your whole self.

When: Monday evenings, 6:30pm - 8:00pm

NoBody but My Body

A workshop to help you feel better in your body

• Do you use food for comfort, or to punish yourself?
• Do you starve yourself one day and binge the next?
• Do you feel guilty and fat after you eat?
• Are you tired of looking in the mirror and hating your body?

In this economy, you can't afford to continue to spend money on another diet that won't work, or on food that goes to waste because you binge on it rather than enjoy it fully. Instead, it’s time to heal your relationship with food and your body and never diet again. This workshop will give you tools to stop this cycle and support you in healing negative feelings about your body. Spend a weekend with others who feel as you do. Invest in yourself.

This workshop will help you to:
• Develop a sense of compassion for yourself and your body issues
• Combat shame and isolation by sharing your struggle with others who feel as you do
• Learn to listen to your inner voice and come from a place of empowerment and choice with food/eating
• Be able to identify the effects of body image/food issues on your relationships with yourself and others and to transform these relationships
• Gain an understanding of underlying issues related to body image/food issues
• Express and embrace your feelings
• Learn to love your body and reconnect with body and spirit

About the Leader:
Anne Cuthbert, MA, LPC has been providing group and individual counseling for men and women with eating disorders and trauma history and has studied and worked with experts in the field of eating disorders for over 10 years.
